$40,331.

Open Until Filled GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs difficult technical and responsible clerical work supervising the daily operations of the Police Department Communications Division; does related work as required.
Work is performed under regular supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Schedules personnel and training; aids and advises communications personnel, police officers, in the proper techniques of police communications; CAD, DCI/NCIC, radio consoles; Supervises entries to the department's computer system relating to CAD and warrants; Supervises entries to DCI and NCIC computer; checks records for accuracy and completeness; maintains departmental records to ensure their security and proper dissemination in accordance with established policies; Supervises and evaluates all communications personnel through daily observation, periodic checks of CAD call information, and radio and telephone recording logs; Supervises the transfer of documents (warrants, citations, subpoenas, etc.
) between the department and the office of the Clerk of Superior Court; Assists in investigations of personnel and other matters with regard to records and communications; Trains new dispatchers in all proper techniques, procedures and equipment; Inspects and tests communications and other equipment, obtains repairs when needed and maintains records of repairs; Builds and maintains geographical database and assignment files for CAD; Performs dispatching duties when required; Manages computer system, performs daily maintenance of computer equipment, brings CRT's and printers on line daily; installs computer transmission lines, solves problems as needed; Maintains rotation wrecker policy; maintains files on wrecker vehicles, drivers and logs; Answers calls for Crime Stoppers and various other incoming lines; Maintains vehicle repossession log; Performs driver history, checks reference citations for DA's office.
JOB RELATED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the employee to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and less force frequently.
Physical activity related to this position may include climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
, Sufficient visual acuity is required to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal, and do extensive reading.
This employee may be subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including noises; and subject to working in narrow or confined areas.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of New World Law Enforcement Record Management (LERMS) software; thorough knowledge of geographical database and assignment files; thorough knowledge of the geography and highway and street system of the City; thorough knowledge of DCI and NCIC regulations; general knowledge of routine maintenance of computer department's computer equipment; general knowledge of maintenance and operation of dictaphone equipment; ability to speak distinctly; ability to deal with the public under stressful situations; ability to prepare and conduct classes in operations of communications computer and related equipment.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Graduation from high school; considerable experience in police communications; extensive training in CAD and related equipment; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of N.
C.
DCI certification.
This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
